Tibetan protests suspended due to Earthquake in China

The Tibetan Government-in exile has requested that in light of the recent earthquake in China, all protests by Tibetans and Tibet supporters against the Chinese government be suspended until the end of May.

Chairman of Friends of Tibet (NZ) and the leader of the Tibetan community in New Zealand, Mr Thuten Kesang, said that his heartfelt sympathy went out to the Chinese people at this time of the disaster. He added: ``There are times when we humans feel the pain and anguish that other people are going through, and this is one of these times.’’
