Youth will benefit from increased funds
Today's
announcement of increased funding for youth services will
mean improved well-being for scores of young people, say the
people who work with youth.
New Zealand Aotearoa Adolescent Health and Development (NZAAHD) executive officer Sarah Helm says the money will make a huge difference to young people who are struggling.
"The great thing about this money is that it is a positive investment in young people, that will build their resilence, strength, life skills, and therefore improve their life course."
"We are pleased that the Government have decided to make a stronger committment to youth."
"Traditionally the services
that work with and for young people have struggled for
funding, which has impacted on the quality of service
organisations provide to young people," she said.
The new funding announcement mean huge progress for those services, and therefore young people, she said.
