Authorities must separate children from P users.

"The headline this week in the NZ Herald reveals major failures in child protection and raises some important questions for the safety of our children", said Kiwi Party Leader Larry Baldock.

"How does a three-year-old like Dylan Rimoni find himself in a home where he is not related to the occupants and where that house is allegedly being used for the manufacture of P?"

"We now know that we are allowing children to be placed into the care of known drug users, at times with the approval of organisations such as Child Youth and Family, Community Alcohol & Drug Services, and ideologically blinded Family Court advocates within the legal profession".

"It is time that children were removed from the care of any known P users".

"It is time that we looked at making the penalties for the manufacture and sale of P to be brought in line with the sentences for murder", said Mr Baldock.

"For surely those who deal in this awful killer drug may in fact responsible for the deaths of many unknown users, either directly, or indirectly?"

"New Zealand has very limited facilities for the treatment of those brought to court with drug and alcohol addictions, and we often send them back into the community where they end up wrecking their havoc upon our innocent children", said Mr Baldock.
