FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 15 APRIL 2008
New Family Violence Death Review Committee Is Another Big Step Towards Reducing Family Violence
Liz Kinley, CEO Strategic Operations, thinks the formation of the Family Violence Death Review Committee is going to mean working towards a safer environment for our children to grow up in.
Ms Kinley’s comments follow the announcement today that a Family Violence Death Review Committee will be established with the goal of reducing family violence and family violence deaths.
Ms Kinley thinks this is a very promising initiative by Government
“I applaud the Government for committing the resources to set up this committee. As Associate Health Minister Steve Chadwick says, Family Violence is a problem that affects all of us in New Zealand society.
That means we all share responsibility for making sure that the findings of this committee are listened to and acted on, so that our children can grow up safely, now and in the future.”
