New Zealand's MPs should adopt the song used by the Salvation Army in its TV campaign, with the leitmotif, "We're all in this together," notes SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.
"Because if the scandalous business-class overseas junkets planned for retiring MPs reveal anything, it's that parasitism in the Beehive knows no party bounds. Labour, National and New Zealand First are knee-deep in the Speaker's Tour to Europe.
'I think it will be lovely,' says Marian Hobbs, who's not sure what the trip is for. 'It might be something to do with MMP.' The Greens' Nandor Tanczos will be going to South Africa at taxpayer expense. Dover Samuels says it's good that he's going to South Africa because he's a 'kaumatua'.
ACT's "perk-busting" Rodney Hide is claiming that such trips are 'all about building relationships overseas.' Yeah, right. Like the one around South American night clubs he went on? Is that 'relationships' of the Eliot Spitzer kind?
"What such trips are all about is Beehive Bludgers of all party stripes living the high life on the backs of the productive citizens who finance them. What they show is the rottenness of the whole stinking lot of them.
"Yes, they're all in it together. It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz," Perigo concludes.
