Chris Carter Lumps Somalis Together

*SOLO Press Release: Idiot Chris Carter Lumps Somalis Together *

*February 8, 2008 *

"Chris Carter has unwittingly done the work of collectivist bigots himself," notes SOLO spokesman Lance Davey.

"Reassuring the Somali 'community' that he will do his utmost to ensure that today's hijacking of a plane by a Somali woman does not reflect poorly on the Somali community, Carter did this by way of a press release titled: 'Minister reassures Somali '*community*' in which he spoke of his talks with Somali *community* leaders and their fears of people lumping everyone in the Somali *community* together.

"Yep good on ya Chris, 'Community, community, community.' There's nothing like consistently lumping a group of people together with your favourite weasel-word to avoid them being ... well, lumped together!

"More worrying though was Chris Carter's statement: "I want to assure Somali New Zealanders that the government will not tolerate any racial or religious intolerance."

"Is that right, Mr. Carter? How do you plan to enforce this zero-tolerance? Do you have a particular piece of thought-control legislation in mind when you say this?

"I wholeheartedly reserve the right to be intolerant, disrespectful, rude, boorish or offensive to any person, for any reason. As Salman Rushdie has noted, there's no such thing as the right to not be offended. The fact that I would choose, on rational grounds, NOT to be intolerant, disrespectful, rude, boorish or offensive towards someone based upon their race (though I might based upon their religion, especially that Islamofascist filth) is irrelevant. You don't have any moral standing to stop me," Davey concludes.
