The Archbishop of Canterbury has called for the UK to adopt Sharia for Muslims.

SOLO-UK calls on His Gross Grace to shove it.

"The Archbishop has already distinguished himself as an arch-purveyor of cant* by calling his own religion nonsense (which it is) while continuing to head it up. Now he wishes to see the most barbaric component of another stinking superstition - Islam - introduced to Britain!" observes SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.

"Is Arch-Cant an Islamofascist mole within Christianity? Or is his target the broader western values of freedom, secularism and one law for all?

"Dr. Williams claims not to be thinking of the implementation of Sharia's most reprehensible savageries such as amputation for theft or stoning for apostasy, but rather, Sharia's 'ways of looking at marital disputes, for example, which provide an alternative to the divorce courts as we understand them.' Does he mean the tradition that a divorce is effective when the male partner says it is? Would he favour the introduction of fixed-term marriages, to be terminated when the bonking is expected to have lost its lustre, just for Muslims?

"Arch-Cant opined that it was important to change British perceptions of Sharia, saying there is no single codified set of universal Islamic laws, with governments from one country to the next employing very different strands.

"Britons should let him know that they want none of it, that to grant separate legal status to some of it is to open the gates to all of it.

"Arch-Cant's advocacy for Islam is a salutary reminder that states must be secular, unbeholden to superstitions ... and that they exist to apply one firm, fair law across the board," Perigo concludes.
