Nats and Greens in Obscene Accord

SOLO-NZ Press Release: Nats and Greens in Obscene Accord

January 8, 2008

By Lindsay Perigo, Principal, SOLO

The sickening capitulation of the National Party to eco-fascism is graphically demonstrated by its press release on Japanese whaling in the Antarctic, says SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.

"Already polluted by the emissions of Global Warmonger Nick Smith, National has now veritably out-greened the Greens," he says.

From the Greens:

The Government must back up the Conservation Minister's concerns for safety in the Antarctic region, expressed this morning, by sending New Zealand Navy frigates to the region, Green Party Conservation Spokesperson Metiria Turei says. Mrs Turei says that New Zealand frigates are needed in Antarctica to act in a dual capacity - as protest ships and as a safety measure in the event of any dangerous incidents.

From National:

National Party Defence spokesman Wayne Mapp says the Government needs to say why it is not sending air force surveillance planes to monitor Japanese whaling. "The Government sent air force Orions to monitor Japanese whaling vessels in Antarctic waters two years ago, why can't they do it now?"

[The misuse of the comma is Dr. Mapp's.]

Observes Perigo:

"Neville Mapp's party, led by Neville Key, has already said it won't be restoring the air force combat wing abandoned by the Chamberlainesque government of Helen 'benign security region' Clark. For it now to be advocating the use of Orions to 'monitor' Japanese whaling is yet another persuasive demonstration that National is just another sappy, socialist 'save the whales' party that cares not one whit about human liberty.

"Japanese whaling is no more our business than New Zealand cattle farming is theirs. If Neville Mapp and Mrs Turei wish to persist in their unseemly alliance, they should get together and eat whale.

"Apparently it's delicious," Perigo concludes, finger-lickingly.
