Arnott’s launches Tim Tam Pink

Arnott’s launches Tim Tam Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Arnott’s has come to the tea party for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the launch of Tim Tam Pink – a limited edition strawberry cream and fudge-filled Tim Tam. For every pack sold throughout the month, ten cents will be donated to the Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition (BCAC), a charitable Incorporated Society representing twenty-three of New Zealand’s breast cancer related organisations.

Arnott’s aim is to raise $30,000 for BCAC from this campaign.  The proceeds will be used to develop a NZ ‘My Journey Kit’ that will be available free of charge to NZ women diagnosed with breast cancer. This kit will provide information and support resources which are currently not available in one, easy to access pack to help women through their cancer journey.

BCAC and Arnott’s are also launching a campaign to encourage New Zealanders to host their own Tim Tam Pink Tea Parties during the month of October. Designed to raise additional funds for BCAC, the Arnott’s Tim Tam Pink Tea Parties are a way of encouraging communities to come together, have fun and raise money. Arnott’s and BCAC aim to raise an additional $50,000 through this campaign. The first 1000 people who register their Tea Party at www.breastcancer.org.nz/timtam will be sent a Tim Tam Pink Party kit full of advice and tools to help them throw their party.

Andrea Steen, Arnott's spokesperson, says: “We are extremely pleased to be working closely with BCAC on this initiative. Arnott’s Tim Tam is a well-loved biscuit in New Zealand and it’s fantastic to be able to bring people a new flavour and raise funds for this important cause”

Libby Burgess of BCAC says: “We are delighted to have an iconic brand like Tim Tam on board, helping us to raise money. BCAC wants to offer all New Zealand women diagnosed with breast cancer a ‘My Journey Kit’ to provide support, guidance and comfort at a time when women need to gain understanding and know they are not alone.

“2500 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and two women will die every day from this disease in our country.  With continued assistance and funding from our partners like Arnott’s, we hope to offer practical help and support to those women whose lives are affected by breast cancer.”

Arnott’s Tim Tam Pink will be available on shelf at all leading supermarkets around the country until sold out for a recommended retail price of $2.90.

The Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition (BCAC) provides a united consumer voice to improve detection, treatment and care for those with breast cancer in Aotearoa New Zealand.
