Envoy from Viet Nam to present credentials

The Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam presents credentials to the Governor-General Anand Satyanand at Government House, Auckland tomorrow (Tuesday 4 September) at 9.30 am.

Mr Vuong Hai Nam is the newly appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

He will present his letter of credence one week ahead of the visit to New Zealand by Viet Nam's President, Mr Nguyen Minh Triet.

Mr Vuong has previously worked in the Asia Department (responsible for New Zealand) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Viet Nam.

From 2004 until 2007 he held the position of Deputy Director General. He has previously undertaken postings in Cambodia and Laos.
