Aotearoa Live – Climate
Change Day of Action
July 7 is Aotearoa Live – a day for
New Zealanders to express their
concern about climate
change.
On that day a series of Live Earth concerts are
being held around the
world, to raise awareness about
global warming.
Climate change campaigners ClimAction are
inviting New Zealanders to take
part in local
events.
“Climate change is the greatest threat facing
humanity today. Around the
world people will be speaking
out at the Live Earth concerts, it’s a
great
opportunity to goin our voices with theirs,” said
ClimAction spokesperson
David Colyer.
Two events have
already been announced: a street parade will leave
Aotea
Square at 2 pm, and the concerts will be screened
at Tom Forde’s Pub on
Anzac Ave, from eight.
“We
invite everyone who is concerned about climate change to
join in, or
event come up with their own ideas to mark
the day,” Mr Colyer said.
Those planning events or
action can keep in touch through the ClimAction
