Grey Power Lament Rising Electricity Costs

Grey Power National President, Mr Graham Stairmand said today "There has been much hand-wringing and agonising over the death of a women whose life support system failed when the power was cut off. While there is talk of guidelines and regulations, this does not affect the cause of the problem which is the ever escalating cost of electricity." "The cost of electricity has increased 60% over the last 4 years.

The government uses it's state-owned enterprises Mighty River, Genesis and Meridian as cash cows to fund their projects, with little notice of the effect on the ordinary consumer. The PM has been engaged in damage control trying to limit the political damage but nowhere has there been any sympathy for the consumer, especially the elderly who go to bed early to keep warm as they just cannot afford to heat their home adequately."
