EPMU to appeal as Air Nelson Strike continues

The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union will be appealing the Employment Relations Authority’s decision not to grant an injunction against Air New Zealand-owned Link provider Air Nelson’s strikebreaking activities.

The ERA issued its decision yesterday afternoon after hearing the case last Wednesday.

The EPMU will ask for its appeal, which will be heard in the Employment Court, to be given urgency.

Air Nelson is the largest Link provider for Air New Zealand and connects most of New Zealand’s regional centres with its main cities.

The next three day round of full strike action by Air Nelson engineers begins at 6pm this evening and will continue until 6am on Sunday the 10th of June.
