Latvia, Ghana, DPRK envoys present credentials

Envoys from Latvia, Ghana and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) present credentials

Ambassadors from Latvia and DPRK (North Korea), and the High Commissioner of Ghana present credentials to Governor-General Anand Satyanand at Government House tomorrow (Friday 25 May) at 11.30 am.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force will provide the Maori Ceremonial Challenge and the Guard of Honour.

Mr Indulis Bērzinš is the Republic of Latvia’s Ambassador. Mr Bērzinš is the first Latvian Ambassador to New Zealand, and is accredited from Britain where he is based. He is also Ambassador to Britain and Northern Island. He has previously been Latvia’s Ambassador to Denmark.

Ghana’s new High Commissioner is Mr Kofi Sekyiamah, who has had previous postings to Brussels, the United Nations and Tanzania. Last year he became Ghana’s High Commissioner to Australia with cross accreditation to New Zealand.

Bang (Pang) Song Hae is the new Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Based in Canberra, he is crossed accredited to New Zealand. Mr Pang served in Thailand from 1991 to 1996.

Both Ambassador Pang and High Commissioner Sekyiamah are based in Canberra.
