Greens shackled by economic orthodoxy
Greens shackled by economic orthodoxy.
“Dr. Russell Norman’s solutions for stablising the booming housing market as a way to increase savings and reduce high over seas debt, as per his recent press release, show he is shackled to economic orthodoxy and the failed policies of the past,” says John Pemberton, Finance Spokesman, DSC.
The successful implementation of the Greens’ environmental policies will remain but a dream, as economic orthodoxy is the primary cause of the destruction of our planet host. On the way to that destruction, the global economy is destroying the social fabric of our country and the world.
The housing market is merely a symptom of that destruction, evidence of the yawning gap between the rich and the rest of us. The singular lack of action towards dealing with climate change, the mounting debt burden at all levels of society, and the inability of our health and education systems to function adequately are all similar symptoms of the destructive and unjust economic system.
It is not until the Green Party embraces a new democratic form of economics where New Zealanders regain control of our financial system, namely the right to issue the nation’s money supply, that they will ever be able to implement urgently needed environmental and social measures or have any effect on the growing gap between rich and poor.
