Monday, April 23, 2007 MEDIA RELEASE
Grey Power members voice their concerns over many issues affecting the quality of life of NZ Communities.
The Grey Power Annual
General Meeting was held last week in Martin at which Mr
Graham Stairmand was re-elected National President for a
further term and accepted the honour of Life Membership,
along with re-elected Vice President Don Chapman.
Graham Stairmand presided over the many issues raised by Delegates from throughout NZ and prominent issues were Electricity and Fuel charges -- Social Services -- Health and Health Board Governance -- Retirement Village anomalies --Local Body dictates -- Rating submissions -- and many other Remits and Community concerns.
Keynote Guest Speakers stimulated discussion on some of the major subjects under scrutiny and debate, with the delegates emphasizing that the Policies debated should be beneficial to all age groups.
President, Graham Stairmand, stressed that the Grey Power voice, as a representative of the Community, should be promoting clearly and factually to all its members that they should vote responsibly at Local Body level, the Health Board elections, the General Elections and indeed any other areas they are privileged to be able to vote in.
