KFA Delighted By Unequivocal Maori Party Support

The Kyoto Forestry Association (KFA) is delighted with the unequivocal support for the forestry industry from the Maori Party.

“Forestry is one of the main economic activities for Maori and the fourth most important industry for all New Zealanders,” Mr Dickie said.

“The Maori Party has joined the Green, National and ACT parties in publicly supporting the industry’s six-point plan to get forest planting underway again.

“In the case of the Maori Party, the support is unequivocal.

“We are delighted to have this support from a party that could choose the next Government. It demonstrates the Maori Party understands and is listening to the forestry industry, and finds abhorrent the prospect of more retrospective legislation and further confiscation of private property rights.”

Mr Dickie said KFA and other industry organisations continued to work with other political parties to secure further support for the industry’s six-point plan.
