GPJA: All Foreign Troops out of Iraq

All Foreign Troops out of Iraq
International Day of Action - Saturday March 17th, 12 Noon Aotea Square, Auckland.
Global Peace and Justice Auckland have organised a protest this Saturday as part of an International Day of Action to call for all foreign troops to be withdrawn from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The international day of action marks the 4th anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
The protest is calling for –
-Foreign Troops to be withdrawn from Iraq (In a recent poll more than 70% of Iraqis want foreign troops out)
-New Zealand to withdraw its army contingent from Afghanistan where it is helping bolster a puppet regime organised by the US
-The government to abandon plans to send a frigate to the gulf region in support of US interests
-An end to US threats to attack Iran
Estimates are that 700,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed in the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. The vast majority of humanity – including now the clear majority of American citizens – want the occupation to end so that Iraqis can get on with the struggle to build a democratic nation.
