Senior Appointment at Ministry of Economic Development

Andrew Jackson has been appointed Deputy Secretary Competition, Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Economic Development.

“Andrew Jackson has had an extensive career with the Department of Trade and Industry in the UK and will add an international perspective to our work on competition and trade issues,” said Ministry Chief Executive Geoff Dangerfield.

The Competition, Trade and Investment branch which Mr Jackson will head advises government on regulatory and competition frameworks for business, with a view to achieving business efficiency, enhancing innovation and fostering sustainable economic growth. It also advises on the issues that drive competition, trade and investment, and the linkages between them and broader economic development.

“These are key areas of economic policy and the Ministry is fortunate to have attracted an appointee of Mr Jackson’s calibre,” Mr Dangerfield said.
