National Welcomes New Leader
National Party president Judy Kirk today welcomed John Key as Leader of the New Zealand National Party.
“Mr Key’s aspirational vision and dynamic approach to both politics and the National Party, puts National in the driver’s seat for winning the next election.
“John has always been well regarded by myself and the members of the organisation since entering Parliament in 2002.
“Mr Key has an engaging personality and an inclusive leadership style. He is a genuine leader of the people and will be a strong leader of the National Party.
“It is a very exciting time for the National Party and I am delighted that the National Party Caucus made a unified decision.
Mrs Kirk concluded by commenting that:
“The real job ahead for the National Party is to prove to the New Zealand voters that we are capable of delivering a National lead Government. I look forward to working with Mr Key to deliver that National lead government”.
