Sacked for being pregnant
When new management took over Gateway Hotel in South Auckland Nora Ulutui was told her pregnancy was a "liability" and that she no longer had her
waitressing job.
Not only is this blatant discrimination, the terms of the sale of the
business included an agreement that existing staff would continue their
employment with the new owners.
Unite Union is protesting against this discrimination and will be taking a
case to the Human Rights Commission. There will be a protest outside the
Gateway Hotel at 1pm on Sunday 12 November 2006.
Where: Gateway Hotel, 206 Kirkbride Rd, Mangere (by the intersection to Auckland Airport)
When: 1pm Sunday November 12th
Ends
