Climate Activists Target Mobil K Rd
Supporters of the ClimAction coalition will be protesting outside Mobil K'Rd (corner Karangahape Road and Ponsonby Road), from 3 pm on Thursday 26 October.
'Climate change is the big threat to people and plant, but Exxon-Mobil is trying pretend that it's not happening," says protest organiser David Colyer.
Thursday's protest comes ahead of a "Civil Disobedience Carnival Against Climate Change", planned for Queen Street at 1pm on Saturday 4 November.
ClimAction calls for free and frequent public transport, to cut CO2 emissions, and says that the Kyoto Protocol is not enough, advocating "system change" as the alternative to climate change.
