July 20, 2006 Marks 7 Years of Persecution of Falun Gong in China
Appeal to NZ government and all kindhearted Kiwis to help stop the persecution to be held in Wellington on July 20 and 21
July 20, 2006 will mark seven years since the bloody persecution of Falun Gong began in China in 1999. For seven years, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been branded as criminals, detained, tortured and killed simply for what they believe in. The communist authorities use hundreds of different torture methods in an effort to force practitioners to renounce their belief, with 2920 deaths confirmed and many tens of thousands still missing after being detained by authorities.
Organ Harvesting Exposed
One of the most sinister and shocking aspects of the persecution is the practice of live organ harvesting, where Falun Gong practitioners have their organs extracted, while they are still alive and fresh, to be sold for profit by authorities. Bodies of the victims are then thrown into incinerators to destroy the evidence.
Two Canadians - former Secretary of State for the Asia Pacific region David Kilgour and international human rights lawyer David Matas, conducted an independent investigation into the allegations of organ harvesting and concluded that the allegations were indeed true. The full report can be viewed at: http://investigation.redirectme.net/.
The unbelievable crimes of organ harvesting have once again revealed the evil nature of the Chinese communist regime. As Mr. Matas stated after releasing the report, “this is a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet.” The evil nature of the Chinese communist regime is a threat to people all over the world, and people must wake up to this fact.
Practitioners Given Refuge In New Zealand, a father still suffers torture Many Falun Gong practitioners seek to flee China to escape the persecution. For those who are able to make it out, they are given UN refugee status and taken in to safe countries. New Zealand has helped to rescue Falun Gong practitioners by giving them refuge from the persecution and the freedom to follow their beliefs in peace.
A young couple named Yanchen and Ziwei are the two most recent refugees to be given a home in New Zealand. However, Yanchen has not seen her father Sanpu for three years. Sanpu has continuously been detained in China due to his belief in Falun Gong. He has suffered many extreme tortures, both physically and mentally. Yanchen strongly hopes the New Zealand Government can help rescue Sanpu from the terrible situation he is in now and bring him to the safe shores of New Zealand. "Our only hopes lie with the International Community to save my father and hundreds of thousands like him," said Yanchen. Falun Gong practitioners from around New Zealand will hold a press conference on Parliament grounds on Thursday the 20th of July, addressing the abovementioned issues. The press conference will be followed by a ‘Stop The Persecution’ march from parliament grounds to the City Centre, where an anti torture exhibit will be displayed.
A press release with the details for times and locations will be sent out on Tuesday the 18th of July.
