Greypower Disgusted By Prisoner's Heating

The latest news that prisons are being fitted with Under Floor Heating is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous, given the fact that these places are supposed to be a Detterent for future offending.

Grey Power spokesmen Hamish Perry asks the question “ Has Minister O’Conner and his Correction Department 'lost the plot!', or is this just another ridiculous PC act to satisfy the 'whims of the crims'?’’ Apart from the massive blowout in costing (Montgomerie and Mickkleson have nothing to worry about with their “blowout” at the USA Open), this is a “triple bogey” at the first building.

There would be many a family feeling the discomfort of winter, let alone the elderly who have to sit wrapped in blankets or go to bed early so as to keep warm. Yet the less desirable members of society are encouraged to a life of crime knowing full well that their accommodation inside far and above exceeds that to which they experience in the hard world. Maybe the under floor heating is to assist the prostitutes getting from one cell to the other. Do their victi
ms get any preferential treatment? I think not.

Then there was the interview on “NZ Close Up” Wednesday evening, when the Minister didn’t front up but left it to a “former minister of corrections” to beat around the bushes. Perhaps Minister O’Connor had got cold feet.

When Is There Going To Be Some Sensibility Back In The Government Thinking On These Matters ?
