A further 123 New Zealand troops arrived in Timor Leste today, with four New Zealand Pinzgauer Light Operational Vehicles.

The deployment of the Delta Company soldiers increases the New Zealand Defence Force presence in Timor Leste to 162.

This is the first time that the Pinzgauers have been used in Timor. They will primarily be used for transportation of troops.

New Zealand and Australian C-130 Hercules aircraft are providing airlift from Darwin to Dili in support of current operations.

A 14-member New Zealand Defence Force planning team remains in Sydney. They are working alongside Australian counterparts to determine what tasks will be undertaken by New Zealanders, and ensuring the contingent fits smoothly into the international coalition.
