Buy Kiwi-Made will make a real difference
The National Distribution Union hopes that funding to be announced today for the Green’s Buy Kiwi-Made programme will lead to “a real change in buying behaviour – especially by powerful purchasers like supermarkets and the Government.”
The funding will be announced this morning by Sue Bradford and Trevor Mallard.
The NDU represents clothing and textile workers, workers in food production and wood manufacturing, as well as transport, retail and distribution.
“The focus of previous promotional campaigns was on individual shoppers. We are looking forward to seeing a much more comprehensive approach this time around. Individual shopper choice is important, but that choice often depends on the procurement policies of large corporations, like supermarkets” says Laila Harré, National Secretary of the NDU.
