World Union Leader To Address Conference
Delegates at the Council of Trade Unions conference will be addressed by a world trade union leader tomorrow afternoon. Sharan Burrows, head of both the Australian Council of Trade Unions and the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, will address the conference at 3.50 pm. Her speech will be preceded by an ‘abstract’ of her presentation, just after 12 noon, and a chance for delegates to forward any questions for her.
The conference, which begins in Wellington tomorrow, is themed Unions 2010, and also features the opening speech from CTU President Ross Wilson, a presentation from members of the newly formed Public Service Association of Tonga and the winner of Safeguard Health and Safety Most Influential Employee award. The conference is being MC’d by comedian Michele A’Court.
