Guinness World Record Attempt In Auckland
World Animal Week Free Public Event Sunday 09 October 2005
As part of a global celebration the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is staging a free, public event
at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour with the aim of breaking the Guinness World Record for the ‘World’s largest game of
Chinese Whispers’.
The event is open to everyone and promises to be fun for all the family with games, face painting, street performers and
you may even get to whisper in the ear of one of many animal loving celebrities who will also be in attendance on the
day.
The event starts at 12 noon on Sunday 09 October and hopes to attract around 1000 animal lovers from Auckland and
beyond. The current world record is held by an American School group who achieved 814 ‘Chinese Whispers’. WSPA New
Zealand Regional Manager, Kimberly Muncaster is confident of breaking this record and urges anyone who ‘thinks the world
of animals’ to come along and take part.
World Animal Week runs from the 4th to 10th October, and will give New Zealanders and people around the globe a chance
to celebrate their love for animals, whilst recognising the incredible achievements which are being made by individuals
and organisations around the world.
