Duke of York to Visit Trentham Military Camp
His Royal Highness The Duke of York will visit members of the Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment (RNZALR) based at Trentham Military Camp on Friday, 30 September 2005.
In New Zealand to visit members of the “Duke of York’s own” Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment, The Duke of York will spend the day at Trentham where he will meet with officers and soldiers from the Logistic Executive before spending some time at the Trade Training School where he will meet soldiers taking part in specialised logistic courses and professional training.
While in Trentham, The Duke of York will also have an opportunity to view the New Zealand Army’s new Light Operational Vehicle, the Pinzgauer, and will be driven through Trentham Camp in a New Zealand Light Armored Vehicle (NZLAV).
The Duke of York visits with the 2nd Logistic Battalion in Linton on the 29th of September and after leaving Trentham, will view an Army exercise in the Nelson region being conducted by the Burnham based 3rd Logistic Battalion.
The Duke of York has held the appointment of Colonel-in-Chief of the RNZALR since its formation in 1996.
