Today ACT launched an exciting new fundraising initiative by launching donated products and political memorabilia on online auction site Trade Me.

Items on offer include a ride in the amphibious Gibbs Aquada, a week's accommodation in Fiji, autographed t-shirts, book posters and documents dating back to before the official foundation of the ACT party.

"I'm delighted that we can offer the public the chance to bid online for a piece of New Zealand's political history," ACT President Catherine Judd said.

"The web has proven a powerful campaigning tool for ACT, and we believe that moving fundraising beyond online donations to online auctions will be every bit as successful.

"Trade Me is New Zealand's most successful online trading website, so we anticipate plenty of interest over the next few days.

"Money raised will be used to increase ACT's profile and win the all important Party Vote over the last few weeks of the election campaign," Ms Judd said.

The public can bid on ACT's auctions by going to www.act.org.nz/ auctions.
