New Soil & Health Spokesperson

New Soil & Health Spokesperson

Steffan Browning of the Soil & Health Association of New Zealand is standing down from his co-chair and spokesperson positions with Soil & Health during the election campaign.

Steffan Browning number 11 on the Green Party list is an active participant in the NZ organic sector and in environmental issues in Marlborough.

Besides his roles in Soil & Health, Mr Browning is on the BioGro Council, Boards and Certification Committee and is a council member of the newly formed Organics Aotearoa New Zealand, co-chair of the Friends of Nelson Haven & Tasman Bay and committee member of both Marlborough Environment Centre and Recreational Fishers.

As recently appointed Green Party spokesperson for Agriculture, Organics, Biosecurity and Customs, Mr Browning has identified the potential conflict of interest in being a spokesperson for the Soil & Health Association.

While the Soil & Health Association is not party political, co-chair Holger Kahl said he wishes Steffan well in the coming election and looks forward to an increased push for organics from within Parliament should Steffan be successful.

Mr Kahl a tutor at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology has taken over the spokesperson role for Soil & Health.
