Police Recruitment Problems First Raised By Police

"Problems with Police recruitment were first raised by Police themselves publicly last week and what was raised seems to be confirmed by the information we have received ourselves," NZ Police Association President, Mr O'Connor said today.*

"The Police Association is aware a meeting took place to address recruiting concerns. We are not aware of what took place but are buoyed by Police reassurances that Police standards for recruits will not be compromised in any way," said Mr O'Connor.

"We look forward to working with Police and other interested parties to get the right numbers of properly trained police officers in the right places," said Mr O'Connor.
