Scoop exhibit bias in the press releases they will receive
One can only assume that the Scoop editorial team and owners are prejudiced against a biblical critique of sinful behaviours such as homosexuality or Islamic fundamentalism. Perhaps half of the press releases I have issued of late have been ignored by Scoop who claim to be unbiased.
A case in point concerns the recent study that shows that homosexuals have many times greater mental problems than heterosexuals. My comments concerning this matter, which can be found at http:// http://www.reformationtestimony.org.nz, are a valid comment on those terrible statistics. While Scoop published reports about the study, it steadfastly refused to publish our Christian comment.
Scoop brags concerning its mission: “The scoop.co.nz publication is a new media, born of the internet and populated by material of the internet. It delivers news in a totally new way – unprocessed and raw “from the horse's mouth”. Scoop.co.nz is transforming the news environment – providing an open forum for a variety of perspectives to co-exist just as the sources intended”.
This claim is hogwash. Scoop is plainly biased against criticisms of the present anti-Christian culture which permeates New Zealand society. Scoop have claimed that my material borders on libellous, which is plain nonsense. The only two reasons we can think of for Scoop’s unwillingness to print the “raw” opinions and press releases of conservative Christians are 1) fear of offending those paying the bills – their advertisers; and 2) they agree with the immoral trends in our society and want to suppress criticism of those trends.
Their actions, therefore, contradict their claims to present “objective” news “just as the sources intended”.
