Dairy Note: Boycott the Mugabe Regime Protest

URGENT! It's Just Not Cricket - Boycott the Mugabe Regime!

Please distribute as widely as possible -

Global Peace and Justice Auckland is supporting the campaign to stop the New Zealand Cricket team from touring Zimbabwe next month. Please spread the word about these 2 important events

(1) Public Meeting - This Friday 15th July, 8pm at Aotea Chapel, 370 Queen Street (Opposite the Town Hall) This meeting is jointly organised by the Green Party and Global Peace and Justice Auckland.

Speakers at this meeting will be - q Henry Olongo - black Zimbabwean cricketer effectively banned from Zimbabwe for his opposition to the Mugabe regime's abuses of human rights and q Judith Todd - long time campaigner - along with her father Garfield Todd - for an end to white minority rule in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) and South Africa who lost her Zimbabwean citizenship for her forthright opposition to Mugabe's policies

(2) Protest March - Saturday 16th July, 12noon. Gather at the corner of Queen St and Customs St. The march is organised by GPJA and will be led by Henry Olongo and Judith Todd.

This could be the largest public protest against the human rights abuses of Mugabe anywhere in the world - lets make sure it is.

More details of GPJA opposition to the cricket tour can be read on our website at http://www.gpja.pl.netThere is a poster for the march to download and spread far and wide. We only have a few days to get the word out Remember the tens of thousands being bulldozed from their homes and give a few hours to this important human rights issue. See you there!
