Rescue Update - Ciru
An Airforce Orion dropped two packages of emergency equipment to the crew of the striken yacht Ciru, shortly after 7am this morning.
The condition of the crew is still unknown. One crewmember was seen in the cabin door of the yacht, but the packages were not retrieved.
The Orion left the area at 8am, and another Orion is due to arrive at 9.10am. The commercial ship Baltimar Boreas is still steaming towards the yacht to help rescue the crew, and it is expected to arrive at 10am.
One of the crew on board Ciru is a Swedish national, the other is a New Zealander.
