Destiny NZ At Rotary Club - Auckland Sunrise
Destiny NZ leader Richard Lewis presented the party's 'empowering families' message to the Auckland Sunrise Rotary Club in Parnell yesterday.
Lewis told a responsive audience that his message of protecting, empowering and prospering families was entirely relevant and necessary to addressing root issues of social dysfunction being manifest in New Zealand society today.
"The present Government has moved right away from our nation's founding values that protect and respect the institution of marriage and the intergenerational family. The current environment of political correctness and a culture that fosters 'rights without responsibilities' is creating a very unstable and uncertain environment for our families and the younger generations - it is time to get back to the basics and restore clarity to the meaning of family, marriage, fatherhood and parenting again", he said.
Destiny New Zealand's Family Policy aims to bring clarity to marriage by introducing a 'Definition of Marriage Act' that defines marriage as being between one man and one woman at the exclusion of all others voluntarily entered into for life.
Policies also include lowering the personal and business tax rates with a goal of a flatter tax structure and tax relief for first time married homebuyers and full time mothers. The party also seeks to repeal the Civil Union and Prostitution Acts and to lift the legal drinking age to 20.
This weekend Lewis travels to Blenheim and Nelson for public meetings. View www.destinynz.org.nz 'events' for details.
