Men Don’t Like This
Super heroes will be hitting the streets of Auckland this weekend as Men’s Convoy 2005 begins a week of action in major centres throughout the North Island concluding with a public meeting in the grounds of Parliament at 1pm on Friday 11 March.
The Convoy this year focuses on a number of issues affecting men: Child Support, Family Court, Men’s health, Men’s education and no Ministry of Men’s affairs.
“Child Support is a rip off, the Family Court is a fiasco, key men’s health issues like prostate cancer see a lot of posturing and little action, education puts barriers in front of young men and there is no Men’s Ministry to give men a political voice. Men have had enough and the Convoy is part of a number of initiatives to put men’s issues firmly on the 2005 election agenda.” Commented Kerry Bevin Co-coordinator of Men’s Convoy 2005.
“Were expecting a large number of super-heroes at the launch at Albany Mega Centre at 1pm Saturday 5 March. More super-heroes will join us as we head to Wellington to take a clear message to politicians that Men Don’t Like: Child support rip-offs, the Family Court fiasco, prostate posturing, education bias and a ministry of woman’s affairs but no men’s ministry! Its time to redress the balance.” concluded Bevin.
