Antidote #11, the first for 2005, features a varied line up of documentaries broadly covering environmental and economic issues.

Fourth World War (The) / Rick Rowley, Jacqueline Soohen /2004, 75min

Shot on five continents over more than two years, The Fourth World War writes a new chapter in history, setting down the untold story of the citizen movements that have sprung up all over the planet. The film was produced through a global network of independent media and activist groups, offering convincing proof that the term “anti-globalization movement” is a misnomer.

It was filmed simultaneously on the front lines of conflicts in Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Palestine, Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as during the summit meeting protests in Seattle, Genoa and Quebec City. The Fourth World War contrasts the war without end—a global conflict, one that shatters and divides—with the inspiring struggles of men and women who resist oppression, injustice and violence. With music by Manu Chao, Asian Dub Foundation, Múm, Moosaka, Cypher AD, and DJ C.

State of Emergency, 2004, approx 4-5 min

In May 2004 over 500 people attended a conference for four days in a reclaimed warehouse in inner city Melbourne. State of Emergency was a series of workshops, forums, parties and film screenings that attempted to come to grips with the new forms of state power, war and neo-liberalism that pervade everyday life.

Tasmania's Forests: A Global Treasure, a National Responsibility, 2004, 14 min

Tasmania is globally renowned for its pristine wilderness. But the Tasmanian community is divided by the logging of old growth forests for woodchips. Set to a soundtrack by The John Butler Trio, this short film documents the logging practices and the subsequent community protests within Tasmania.
