Destiny Rejects ‘Special Rights’
Destiny New Zealand leader Richard Lewis will up the ante against the proposed Civil Union and Relationships Bills at this weekend’s party conference in Auckland.
“Of all the submissions received on the Civil Union Bill an overwhelming 95.5 percent were in opposition, which represents a total rejection of this anti-family legislation. One would think that any government claiming to govern in the best interest of the majority of New Zealanders would take a result like this seriously and discard such an absurd piece of legislation. However, the Prostitution Bill succeeded in the face of similar public opposition so we are not assuming for one minute that common sense will prevail,” said Mr Lewis.
Destiny NZ made headlines with its recent march on parliament to make a stand for family values, the institution of marriage and the wellbeing of children. This Saturday the party expects a capacity crowd to attend its end of year public meeting, which features special guest Bernice A. King, daughter of Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
“The Civil Union Bill is a smoke screen for gay marriage. It is not about equal rights - it’s about special rights. If these types of Bills become law, every minority group based on a sexual preference or bizarre behaviour will demand the same legal recognition,” he added.
The meeting commences at 7pm on Saturday 23rd
October at the Destiny Auditorium – 18 Allright Place, Mt
Wellington.
