Advance Voting Starts In By-Election
Advance voting starts on Wednesday 30 June in the Te Tai Hauauru by-election. Advance voting is available to people who cannot get to a polling place on Saturday 10 July, the day of the by-election, and will be available until 9 July.
The Chief Electoral Office has set up advance voting places in 14 locations across the vast electorate which stretches from Porirua to Tirau. Advance voting facilities are available in the following towns
Foxton Hawera Levin New Plymouth Ohakune Otaki Palmerson North Paraparaumu Porirua Taihape Taumarunui Tokoroa Waitara Wanganui Wellington
In addition, advance voting facilities will be available at 21 other locations outside the electorate through the office of the local Registrar of Electors.
Details of locations and opening hours can be obtained from www.elections.org.nz or from freephone 0800 36 76 56.
People who can’t get to an advance voting facility, and can’t get to one of the 100 polling places open on election day, can apply for a postal vote by ringing freephone 0800 36 76 56.
