Richmond Fellowship Clients Call For Dispute End
Families of Richmond Fellowship Clients Call For End to Dispute
Families of clients of private mental health provider Richmond Fellowship called for the organisation to make an offer to staff trying to negotiate a collective employment agreement at a public meeting in Christchurch tonight.
“The National Union of Public Employees (NUPE) called the meeting in response to concerns raised by clients’ relatives after recent industrial action. Richmond Fellowship were invited but did not attend,” said NUPE organiser John Kerr.
“People raised their concerns and listened to one another and it was agreed to support a motion calling on the employer to make an offer aimed at resolving the dispute. Our union had explained that Richmond Fellowship has made no offer on pay during seven months of talks and people were supportive of calling on the employer to amend that position” said John Kerr.
“We are happy to sit down and talk with Richmond Fellowship to try and resolve matters. The time has come for the employer to put an offer on the table” said John Kerr
