Candidate nominations for the Te Tai Hauauru by-election are now being called for.
The by-election is on 10 July and results from the resignation of the Hon Tariana Turia.
Nominations have to be in by noon on 15 June.
"Advertisements calling for nominations will appear in local newspapers tomorrow," says the Chief Electoral Officer, David Henry.
"I encourage candidates to contact the Returning Officer, Kevin Gunn, on 06 757 3830 and to complete their nominations in good time as no extension of the deadline is possible."
Candidates must be on the electoral roll for any electorate.
The two people nominating the candidate must be on the Te Tai Hauauru electoral roll. David Henry says he expects to announce the candidates by 4pm on 15 June.
