"No, I haven't got it back to front" says Lindsay Mitchell, petitioner for a Parliamentary review of the DPB. "According to today's TransTasman, expert analysis of the recent record budget handout shows 24,000 people - mostly low-income women - will be encouraged to give up their jobs because they will be better off on welfare."
"The TransTasman reports, 'The study of the $A19bn family package finds it so generous to solo parents it will discourage them from looking for work, and tempt others to drop out of the labour market.' "
"If Michael Cullen substantially increases family support payments to all low income families next week, we can look forward to similar predictions." Lindsay Mitchell
