Hope for future of Origin Pacific workers - union
The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union hopes that the jobs of remaining workers at Origin Pacific will be safe under a rescue package for the airline.
The company today announced that it would make more than 90 workers redundant.
EPMU national secretary Andrew Little said that while it was disappointing that the redundancies had had to be made, he hoped that the future of remaining workers was more secure.
Mr Little said that the airline had consulted with workers and their unions throughout the redundancy process, and that workers would receive redundancy payments.
