Listen today to Paakiwaha, an exciting weekly current affairs programme with a Maori perspective. Paakiwaha is hosted this week by Dale Husband and is broadcasted by Radio Waatea with funding from New Zealand on Air.
Dale talks to National MP Georgina Te Heuheu about her new portfolios and her political future. Waiariki MP Mita Ririnui is voting for the Foreshores Bill and he explains why. The Foreshore and Seabed Hikoi will reach Parliament on Wednesday and John Tamihere, Matt McCarten and Tariana Turia each give their views on the Hikoi, Tariana’s resignation from Labour and the proposed Maori Party to contest the next election. Dale also talks with members of a group, calling itself the Takutai United Hacktivists Association, or TUHA, which is organising a "simultaneous worldwide" electronic sit-in for May 5 when the Hikoi reaches Parliament.
