Give Inland Revenue the shirt off your back
MEN’S CONVOY 2004 departs Auckland 28 March 2004, and arrives Wellington 31 March2004 and will carry a petition calling
on the Government to radically reform the current Child Support Regime. The Convoy will collect shirts from parents
throughout the country as part of the “Shirt’s off our Back’s”” campaign to highlight parents experiences of the
administration the Child Support Regime by the Inland Revenue Department.
Convenor Jim Nicolle said “MEN’S CONVOY 2004 will grow the network of parents working for Child Support law change
resulting in a fair and reasonable Child Support System.”
“MEN’S CONVOY 2004 will spread the call for Child Support law reform, by telling Men’s stories of the current Child
Support Regime and encouraging and inviting parents to join together and be part of the network actively promoting Child
Support law reform.”
“We are not against paying child support; we just want the system to be fair. Inland Revenue say it’s their job to be
fair. We want to hold them to their word”, concluded Nicolle.
