National Day Of Vandalism

Following the declaration of a "People's Moratorium" when the GE moratorium was lifted by the Government, a group called the People's Moratorium Enforcement Agency was formed which has now declared what Libertarianz Deputy Stephen Berry descibes as a National Day of Vandalism. "This organisation is a dangerously militant organisation opposed to GE and to property rights. Their calls for direct action are euphemisms for thuggery and vandalism."

December 13 has been designated by the PMEA as a so-called National Day of Action to oppose Arnott's 'withdrawing' its GE-Free guarantee. The National Day of Action is to be used to target Arnott's products and its distributors, as detailed on the website www.pmea.org.nz . Berry has read the contents of the website, labelling the planned actions "small-scale terrorism." Ideas given for activities on the National Day of Action include the occupation of Arnott's offices, damaging or moving stock and disrupting supermarkets.

Stephen Berry says, "These people need to be arrested as quickly as possible if they are occupying property or disrupting businesses. A strong message needs to be sent to these environmental lunatics. Their freedom of speech can never be used as an excuse to violate the property rights of business owners or choice of the consumer."
