Press Council Rejects Press Council Complaint Against New Zealand Herald
The Palestine Human Rights Campaign ( P.H.R.C. ) had its complaint against the New Zealand Herald to the Press Council REJECTED.
Regarding the lack of published reports on the dismissal of Malcolm Evans from the NZ Herald and the lack of fairness and non publication of any Letters to the Editor reflecting the public interest in his dismissal.
The New Zealand Herald, especially over the 3 years of the current Intifada, has refused to cover any of the activities of the P.H.R.C. ( over 36 rallies ) or accept any articles written by members. During the same period it published a major article by the Auckland Jewish Council to which a rebuttal was refused.
Such events reflect of the lack of courage of its editors, particularly in a year when the NZ Herald is congratulating itself on 140 years of journalistic excellence.
