Fat Foolishness
Libertarianz Deputy Leader Stephen Berry today said "Fat discrimination is a right, and Political Science student Stacey Crutch should give up trying to force people into thinking the way she wants them to."
"If you don't like the size of the seats that other people provide on their buses, in their theatres or in their sports grounds then either negotiate for a better deal or go somewhere else," declared Berry, exclaiming disgust that yet another person is making a claim on other people, and wanting the state to back up that claim with force.
"It is the fundamental right of anyone, whether a business, voluntary society or an individual to decide on what terms they interact with others; further, it is the fundamental right of a property owner to decide the nature of any facilities they provide - including the size of seats. It is the owner's money, not anyone else's that is being spent."
"What's next?" declares Berry "are oversized and undersized people going to claim they have the right to be models, pornstars or demand sexual favours from average sized people who 'discriminate' against them and deny them their 'right to sexual happiness'?"
Libertarianz would abolish the Human Wrongs Act and the Human Wrongs Commissariat, and remind all individuals that they should interact with other adults on a voluntary basis. Berry says they would replace both with common sense. "If you don't like someone discriminating against you, then either complain to that person or deal with someone else. Don't go running off to Nanny State to force that person to meet your demands."
