WOMEN'S VISION ON WORLD STAGE
Twenty percent of New Zealand's female population will have their vision of life in New Zealand presented in an influential United Nations forum in New York on July 07.
The vision, collated into a Report, following three years of meetings and written submissions from all over New Zealand, provides a snapshot of life for women in New Zealand.
Anne Todd-Lambie and JB Byrne will appear before the United Nations CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women) Committee to present the non-Maori NGO (Non-Governmental Organisations) Report on the civil, social, economic, cultural and political rights of New Zealand women.
The presenters of the Report have both had long experience in organisations that have lobbied for many of the issues highlighted in the Report and were nominated to the role by the groups who had contributed to the Report.
